License Types

LinkCAD offers three license types. All licenses include the full set of supported file formats and CAD tools.

Individual License

  • Single-user activation tied to one workstation
  • Offline activation — no internet required
  • License transfer available for hardware changes
  • Free technical support during license period

Activation

  1. Install LinkCAD and launch it
  2. Go to Help → License
  3. Enter the registration code (alphanumeric, 16–20 characters, case-sensitive)
  4. The license is activated immediately

License Transfer

To move a license to a new computer:

  1. Install the same version of LinkCAD on the target machine
  2. On the target, go to Help → About and note the serial number
  3. On the source, paste the target serial number into the Transfer License field and click Transfer
  4. Use the displayed registration code to activate on the target

Network License

  • Floating license pool shared across workstations
  • Automatic check-in/check-out — no user intervention
  • Available in two tiers:
    • Network Lite: up to 3 concurrent users
    • Network Full: up to 30 concurrent users
  • Remote VPN clients can access the license if connected to the licensed network

Setup

  1. Create a shared network folder (e.g. \\SERVER\LINKCAD)
  2. Grant Full Control permissions to all LinkCAD users
  3. Send the share path to [email protected]
  4. Receive the lclic.net file and copy it to the LinkCAD program folder on each client
  5. Verify: Help → About should show NET status for licensed options

Evaluation License

  • Full feature access for 5 days
  • No functional limitations during the trial
  • Automatic activation when you download and install the trial
  • Upgrades to a full license with a registration code
