Measuring
LinkCAD provides two measurement modes accessible from the View menu.
Measure Tool
Activate via View → Measure to measure point-to-point distances and angles.
- Click the first point
- Click the second point
- The distance and angle are displayed in the status bar
The measure tool supports:
- Snap to vertex — automatically snaps to the nearest polygon vertex
- Multiple segments — click additional points to measure a polyline path
- Cumulative distance — total distance across all measured segments
Locate Tool
Activate via View → Locate to display the X,Y coordinates of any point in the drawing.
Click anywhere in the viewer to see the coordinate in the status bar. With snap enabled, the coordinate snaps to the nearest vertex.
Measurement Units
Measurement results are displayed in the current drawing units. Configure units via Tools → Options or the --units command-line parameter.
Common unit systems:
